Some New Additions

Hi Guys,

I've got a few new additions to my make up collection to share with you today.

In November my dad went to New York for the weekend and he was sent with the instructions to come home with the Tarte The Sculptor as I had seen loads of people using it and looked like an easy way to quick contouring.
He did one better and also came home with the Tarte Park Ave Princess palette which includes a bronzer (in Park Ave Princess), a blush (in posh) and a highlighter (in champagne gold). It's a gorgeous palette and I can't wait to start using it - rounds of applause for dad (and the lady in Sephora who helped him).

Tarte The Sculptor

Back on home turf, as a massive fan of the Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoos I picked up Creamy Beige from the Leather Effect collection. It's a perfect matte light taupe colour which I've been using as a base for my everyday eyeshadow.

I've recently got into lip liners as a base for other lip products or wearing them on their own. After seeing the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob being mentioned around YouTube and blogs, I thought it was only right to pick it up. It's a gorgeous creamy, soft beige pink colour and I think suits my skin colour nicely.

What have you been buying recently?

Review: Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment

Hi Guys,
Today I've got a review of the Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado.

At 21, eye creams to reduce lines and wrinkles aren't on the top of my skincare routine but an eye cream to keep my eyes hydrated is.
My under eyes went through a slight dry patch before using this eye-cream where concealers, foundations and powders would crease as they were sticking to the dry patches but this eye-cream ahs turned everything around.

It's a thick consistency yet super creamy and doesn't feel caked on once applied. I apply it every night before going to sleep and my under eyes feel extremely hydrated when I wake up. It smells really nice and a little goes a long way so it's definitely worth the £20 price tag.

I've been using it for a few months now and I don't see myself switching eye creams until it's time to start tackling pesky wrinkles (I'm hoping still a while to go!).

What is your favourite eye cream?

I'm Back

Hello people!!

I last posted in September to say I was taking a break as I was really busy but only expected it to be for a few weeks. Somehow, that break turned into it being December!!

There's so many reasons for the break being so long but the main one is I'm now in my final year of university. I've always been good at time management but somehow this year, any spare moment I have is either doing uni work, working for my job or sleeping so blogging was pushed to the bottom of the list.

Everything I've bought or done these past few months, I've always thought just blog it and you can get back in the game but then something else crops up instead.

I'm not going to lie, January is going to be crazy - I've got 3 massive uni deadlines so I can't promise January will be consistent but whilst December is slightly quieter I'm going to try and pre-write as much as I can.

I'm so happy you've all stuck with me through the long break and somehow my page views and followers have gone up whilst being away so thank you!

With that all in mind, I'm off to write blog posts!!

Life Update

Hi Guys,

This post is just to give you all a little update on my life and why my blog may be a bit quieter for the next couple of weeks.

My last post may have been on Thursday but it was actually written 3 weeks ago. Before going on my family holiday I pre-wrote posts to keep me going until I came back from holiday and could write new content. However, writing new content seems to have gone out of the window.

I came back with severe jet lag and less than 24 hours after we'd landed back home, I was up and getting ready to go back to work. It took a while for me to get over how tired I was not as I didn't give myself a chance to get over it. Two days (and a whole weekend later) I've just finished celebrating a friends 21st and tomorrow I'm off on holiday with her. I've not had time to think, to sort my room out or to pack let alone find the time to take blog photos or write posts.

I'm really annoyed about it as I'd been on such a role with my posts but sometimes there is nothing I can do and unfortunately I don't see much time coming up to get back started in September.
The day after I land from my next holiday I'm back at work for a week until I move back to University where freshers week and catching up with friends I haven't seen for months will take over as will (I'm sure) the workload of my final year of university.

Once I've settled into my new house, new schedule and new workload I'll be back in force but I am hoping to be back a little sooner than that.

Sometimes, life takes over what you really want to do and right now it is but I know it's for the best. After my placement year, I'm so excited to enjoy my final year at uni now I know what working life is really like!!

Anyways, I hope you all understand but right now I don't know where I'd find the time to write posts.

Nail Polish Favourites + Storage

Hi Guys,

As most of you probably do, I love nail polish! It's so nice to have a variety of colours to choose from depending on your mood or outfit, and giving myself a manicure is my perfect way of having a bit of 'me' time.

Rather than just show you my ultimate favourite colours, I thought I'd also give you a peek at how I store them too.

Favourite Colours
Most of my favourite colours are Essie, as that's the brand I own the most of. Everyone will have a brand that just works on their nails, and Essie is the brand for me. I can go a week without it chipping and I love the formula and application brush as it makes it so easy to apply.

Tomorrow Never Dies, Trophy Wife, Cute as a Button, Bikini so Teeny, I'm Not Lion, Fiji
OPI 'Tomorrow Never Dies'
I picked this up over a year ago at duty free and it's part of the James Bond collection. It's such an amazing deep purple with a subtle glitter running through it.

Essie 'Trophy Wife'
This is, as described on the Essie website, a deep teal pearl polish. As I mentioned before, applying Essie polishes is a breeze with this one being no different. It's definitely more of a autumn/winter polish as it's jewel toned.

Essie 'Cute as a Button'
This was the first Essie polish I owned, and it's one of her most famous ones. It's my favourite pink as it's a perfect middle man for bright and pastel.

Essie 'Bikini so Teeny'
This was raved about two summers ago (I think), and the summer it came out, it was the only colour I wore on my toes! It's so the most amazing blue with a subtle shimmer that goes with everything! I can just reapply it over and over again.

China Glaze 'I'm not Lion'
What is a nail polish without a cute name, and this is one of the cutest! China Glaze is also another favourite formulation of mine as they are really long lasting. This a glitter from the Safari collection that you can wear (with a few coats), without another colour underneath. Who doesn't love a bit of glitter?!

Essie 'Fiji'
Once again, this is another very famous Essie polish and who came blame them? It's the most amazing milky nude/pink, that's so flattering on the nails. If I don't know what colour to paint my nails, this is the one that I reach for as it's so universal. There's no swatch of this one I'm afraid as it just looked white against the nail wheels - sorry!

I took inspiration for storing my nail polish from Miss Glamorazzi's Nail Polish Collection. After searching around, I found the cheapest acrylic organisation hanger here on Amazon. Just like Ingrid's, each compartment is separated by colour.

Excuse the Pussycat Dolls poster behind it, I got the poster when I saw them when I was 13. Nostalgic memories means I don't have the heart to take it down, so I covered it instead!

Top Row
Blacks and Silvers
Deep reds and berrys
Shimmery Pinks

Second Row
Darker Pinks
Light Pinks

Third Row
Darker Blues
Lighter Blues

Fourth Row
Yellow and Golds
Coloured Glitters
Top Coat Glitters

Bottom Row
Acetone (to remove gels)
Base and top coats
Nail files, cuticle pushers etc
Nail Polish Remover

I hope you enjoyed seeing my favourite colours and storage!
I think this has been my favourite post I've ever written!
What are your favourite colours?

Travel Make Up - California Edition

Hi Guys,

As this goes live, I'll be on the way to the airport with my family for 2 weeks in California! I'm so excited as this is the biggest family holiday we've ever done and it's for my parents 25th wedding anniversary!

Just like when I went to New York back in July, I thought I'd show you the make up I'm taking with me on our adventure.

To cope with the heat a primer is essential so I'm taking the Bourjois Happy Light Matte Primer as it's my current favourite. I've got a daytime option for foundation, the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in 33 Rose Beige and a night time option for foundation, the L'Oreal True Match foundation in N4 Beige. I'm taking my usual concealers which are the Collection Lasting Perfection in 3 Warm Medium for general concealing and the Maybelline Lumi Touch (in who knows what colour as it's all worn off) for highlighting under the eyes. It'll all need to be set with a powder, so I'm taking the Maybelline Matte Maker which will be followed by some bronzer in the form of the MUA Bronzer in Shade 3. I'm taking two blush options depending on what mood I'm in, the first being another current favourite, the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blusher in True Love. The second blush is a more natural shade of a NYX blush in Mauve. Incase I want to add a bit of a glow in the evenings, I'm also taking the Topshop Glow in Polished.

I'm taking the Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in Barely Branded as one form of eyeshadow base and the MUA Pro-Base Eye Primer as another. I'm planning on keeping my daytime look very neutral which will be done with the help of the Wet n Wild Trio in Walking on Eggshells. Incase I want to bronze things up for the evening I'm also taking the Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze, as well as the L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush. One eyeliner will do the trick with my trusty old favourite, the Rimmel Exaggerate Eye Liner, followed by my favourite mascara Benefit's They're Real. I'm taking two Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Kajals in Nude and Bronze.
For my brows, I'm taking the Natural Collection Eyeshadow in Crushed Walnut (my HD Brows palette did not come back in a great condition after the flights to New York - not taking that risk again!) and the Maybelline BrowDrama in Medium Brown.

The lips is the only area I'm giving myself a few options as who knows what I'll be feeling when I'm there. Firstly is the Maybelline Baby Lips in Hydrate to apply before I start my make up. For actual colour, I'm taking the NYX Butter Gloss in Peach Cobbler and Vanilla Cream Pie. I'm also taking the Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple and the Kiko Kiss Balm in Blackberry. Finally I'm taking the Body Shop Colour Crush lipstick in 110.

I think I've packed quite well for a two week holiday!
What would you take with you?

Monday Morning Wishlist #6

Hi Guys,

Firstly I'd just like to say that this week I've gained quite a few new followers on Bloglovin', so I'd like to say hello to the newbies and thank you for following my little page on the internet! :)

It's time for another Monday Morning Wishlist as there is lots of clothes I've been wanting to buy recently but I've been restraining myself. I'm going back to uni in September so I need to save my money to rejoin the gym/go crazy with student shopping deals!

I love the fit of cigarette trousers, especially when you dress them up with a nice pair of heels and top. I really like the pattern of these ones, as I'm very much into black and white right now.

Sometimes, a pretty black blouse is all you need so you can accessorise to your hearts content!

Oh My Love Playsuit, £35 down to £20
I already own an Oh My Love playsuit and I love it so I really want another one for nights out. The Playing Away Dark Floral pattern is beautiful, and again fits in with the black&white thing I've been loving recently.

I keep coming across this dress when I'm browsing through ASOS. I'd love to have an occasion where I can really dress up for it so this dress would be perfect, but with nothing coming up, it'd be a waste of money. I love how the lace down the edges makes your waist look smaller.

What have you been lusting over recently?

Scented Body Lotions

Hi Guys,

I've never been one who's too lazy to apply moisturiser when they come out of the shower. In fact, I'm the total opposite it and I love it! It's fun to apply a lotion that smells amazing so you can keep smelling it as the day goes on.
I thought I'd show you the scented lotions that are currently in my collection.

Victoria's Secret Love Spell
Cherry Blossom and Peach make this gorgeous scent! I was at a friends recently applying this and she ran into the room saying 'what is that smell, it's unbelievable'. It's powerful but not enough to be overbearing and it lasts! I also have the matching body spray which helps it last even longer. The lotion itself is also very hydrating and smooth to apply.

Bath and Body Works, Velvet Sugar & Sea Island Cotton
I haven't got as much use out the these lotions yet as they are recent purchases from when I was in New York. However both scents are amazing. The lotions contain Shea and Vitamin E which makes them really moisturising on the skin. The size of them is also perfect for travelling.

The Body Shop Blueberry Body Butter
Now, I know this isn't a lotion but these body butters need an honourable mention for the scented category. The blueberry is limited edition (sad face, it's amazing) but all the other scents are equally as amazing. I love the coconut range, even though I actually hate the taste of coconut.

What are your favourite scented body lotions?

Hi Guys,

I thought I'd share with you the outfit I wore out on Saturday, as I really liked it and it involved a new purchase I haven't hauled.

Two days before I went out I realised I didn't want to wear anything I owned, so as a recent member of ASOS Premier (sorry bank balance) I made a quick purchase of some outfits to choose from.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of my outfit on an actual camera, so a selfie will have to do!

Top: Topshop
Skirt: Oasis
Shoes: Kurt Geiger
Bangles: Loft
Watch: Michael Kors

I really loved this outfit!
What do you think?

July Favourites 2014

Hi Guys,

It's monthly favourites time and a lot of what I've been loving lately is stuff I picked up when I was in New York.

Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in Barely Branded
I've been wearing this everyday with or without eyeshadow on top. As it's neutral it's a perfect base for eyeshadow and it's really long lasting.

Wet N Wild Walking on Eggshells Trio
I now totally get why this is such a hyped up eyeshadow trio. It's perfect - perfect pigmentation and perfect for everyday, easy wear. I've been wearing all 3 shades on my lids as it says on the palette with some winged liner and mascara and it's such a lovely everyday look.

Maybelline Colour Whisper in Rose of Attraction
This is a product that needs to make its way over to the UK and stat! The formula is so creamy and moisturising that my lips feel nourished when I wear this. This colour is also an amazing everyday shade that goes with anything!

Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso
I hate to say it but this is another 'perfect everyday product'. It gives the skin such a healthy glow that you can't help but want to wear it everyday.

MUA Bronzer in Shade 3
Finally, a UK available product for you! I've had this bronzer for a while and decided recently to get it back out and try it again, and I'm glad I did. This is such a great contour colour for me and it's matte. I highly recommend this product and even if you don't like it, you've only lost £1! I've been applying this with my next favourite.

Sephora Bro Contour Brush
This is the most perfect contour brush I own. I'm always on a mission to find an amazing contour brush to help things be just that little bit easier when doing contour as I don't have prominent cheekbones at all! This size of this brush fits perfectly into the hollows of my cheek and blends out powder beautifully. If you're in America or even planning on making a Sephora purchase online, I can't recommend this brush enough!! It's kicked all my other contour brushes to the side.

What have you been loving this month?
