OOTN: Clubbing #2

Hi Guys,

My last OOTN post was in January, which you can see here. I can't believe it's been that long so this has definitely made me want to do more outfit posts!

I went out on bank holiday Sunday for my friend's birthday so here is what I wore :)

My playsuit is from Primark and was £12 and the belt came with it. Although I didn't have them on in the picture, I wore my black converse as it was definitely a kind of club to be comfy in rather than dying in heels!

For my face, I had my MAC studio fix fluid foundation on in NC30, and the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer to cover any little blemishes. I wore my Sleek Blush in Pomegranate, and used the highlight from my Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette. My eyes were a combination of colours from the Urban Decay Naked 1 palette - I had 'Naked' all across my lid, 'Toasted' in my outer corners and a very light sweep of 'Buck' in my crease. I then lined my lashes with the Collection Extreme Felt Tip Liner and applied false lashes which I bought of Ebay. I filled my eyebrows in with a Natural Collection eyeshadow in 'Crushed Walnut'.
I finished my whole face off with a couple of spritz's of my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray and wore the Bourjous Colour Boost Lipstick in 'Red Sunrise' on my lips (it had worn off in the picture).

Opposite Colours

Hi Guys,

One of my most visited websites is nail polish direct. They sell loads of brands of nail polishes, including China Glaze, Essie and OPI.

There has been one particular colour on my wishlist for a while, which is OPI 'Strawberry Margarita' and I finally caved on a recent browse of the website and ended up purchasing it. Of course, I couldn't stop at one nail polish, and also bought OPI 'My Private Jet', which I had seen recently on an Instagram post from Make Up by Tiffany D.

L-R: My Private Jet & Strawberry Margarita

OPI costs £6.99 a bottle on the website, and it's free delivery with orders over £10 (so you can see why it's one of my favourite websites!).
I love the formula of OPI nail polishes on my nails and can't wait to get more!

What are you favourite OPI colours?

Marks and Spencer's Summer Dress Competition

Hi Guys,

I was ever so kindly asked by the people over at Marks and Spencer's if I wanted to take part in their summer dress competition....what a silly question, of course I do!!

All you have to do is style your favourite summer dress for a holiday destination, and the winner gets a £200 M&S voucher. 3 runners up also get a £50 M&S voucher! So pretty nice prizes, even if you don't win!

I have been on holiday this summer to Tenerife already and the dress I'm about to show you as my favourite summer dress, I took with and wore! However, I didn't accessorise it on holiday as I am doing so in the post. (Kinda wish I had now!)

The dress itself is from Topshop and cost £32. I bought it back in February so I don't think they sell that exact one anymore but they have ones very similar. I have worn this dress to death this summer, everything from my holiday to shopping to dinners out with my friends!

To add colour to the dress, I would add this deep red coloured statement necklace which is from Primark. It was £4 but I got it for £2 in the sale - £2!! I think it complements the dress perfectly by adding a pop of colour.

Lastly for my shoes, I would wear these gorgeous brown heeled sandals that I bought from Wallis. They were originally £50 but once again I found a bargain and bought them for £10!! I did actually take these to Tenerife with me and wore them with my other favourite summer dress (see picture below). They are really comfortable and a classic style so I know I'm going to get a lot of use out of these during the summer months!

My other favourite summer dress to see the shoes in action!

The second part of the competition entry is to choose a summer dress on the M&S website (within a £70 budget).

My choice was super simple. I chose this beautiful navy striped maxi dress, that also comes with a belt, from the Autograph line. It was originally £49.50 but it's currently in the sale for £39.60 (everything seems to be about sales on this post today!). If I say so myself, I think this dress would also go perfectly with my brown shoes - see they go with everything!

That's it for my styling post!
What do you think makes the perfect summer dress?

Cleaning Brushes

Hi Guys,

Today I'm going to talk about something we all hate but it's a must do.
If you follow my blog you'll know I've had a long history with acne, and in light of that I try to wash my brushes every week to stop the spreading of bacteria.

I wash my brushes with Johnson's Baby Shampoo and use a technique I learnt from one of Amarixe's videos which you can see here.

However, in between washes I spot clean using the ELF Daily Brush Cleanser. It's really effective at a quick clean and they're dry straight away in case I need to use the brush again. There is also no scent, which I would find a bit off putting if there was to then put the brushes back on my face!
It's a really inexpensive product and you can find a 50ml bottle here for £3.75.
I bought my bottle about 5 months ago for the same price but it's a 250ml bottle so that's really annoying that they've cut down the size but kept the same price!

However, my first bottle of this lasted over a year so the price is totally worth it!!

How do you clean your brushes?

Review: Vaseline Spray & Go Body Moisturiser

Hi Guys,

I'm sure many of you have heard of the new Vaseline moisturiser either through blogs or youtube, so of course I was tempted to go out and buy it!

Boy am I glad I did!

There are 3 different kinds, but I picked up the cocoa radiant formula and it smells delicious which makes the whole application of this lotion even better!
I've bought the exact same cocoa lotion from Vaseline before but the kind where you just squirt it out, and I can definitely tell the difference in application.

It is the easiest moisturiser to apply. A quick spray and rub and the lotion itself has sunk in instantly so no waiting around to not feel sticky.

I really like the packaging too. The lid twists shut so there will be no spillages if you take it travelling. (I'm also a sucker for the noise it makes when you twist it!)

All in all this is a great new way to apply moisturiser.
Is it bad that I'm already planning on taking the aloe vera version on holiday...in April?!

Victoria's Secret Comes to the North!

Hi Guys,

Last Thursday (8th August), the first Victoria's Secret in the North of England opened at the Trafford Centre in Manchester. I made it an obligation to go on the Friday when I'd finished work, and of course picked up a couple of things!

I bought a sports bra from Victoria's Secret PINK as I needed a new one anyway and this one fit perfectly, and looked pretty at the same time.

However, the part I was looking most forward to seeing was the fragrance section. I must have ended up walking away from that section with at least 20 sprayed cards as I was deciding which scent I liked the best.

The prices of the fragrances/body products were so much better than I expected! I knew the shop in general would be expensive, but the beauty products were reasonable. There were different deals to be able to buy them in.

  1. Buy each item individually which is around £11 an item
  2. 3 items for £24
  3. 5 items for £30
  4. A gift bag, with 3 mini items for £20

I decided to go for the gift bag, as I have a lot of body sprays and lotions on the go so I didn't need full sizes, plus the cosmetic bag is really cute.

The products as they come in the bag (How cute is it?!)

The products themselves

Love Spell itself smells like Cherry Blossom & Peach (as it says on the bottle) and it really does smell beautiful! It's girly and fresh and I love it!

I'm really happy with my purchases from Victoria's Secret.
Do you love anything from there?

Roaccutane Diary: August 2013

Hi Guys,

I can't believe this is the 9th instalment of my Roaccutane Diary!

Week 28
This week, once again, is exactly the same as it has been for the past 2 months! I'm still carrying around lip balm as my lips are still dry and cracking.

Week 29
I've been a bit gutted this week that I got a spot, and not just a little spot, a huge white head whopper right in the corner of my mouth which was really painful.
By the time the picture was taken it had gone but it's been really hard to deal with.

Week 30
Luckily, I've had no new spots this week. If you follow this series you'll know I've had really dry skin on my arms and hands. Well know it's decided to start on my face! Throughout the day, the skin starts to get really flaky around my mouth. At least with my arms I could hide it, but this is really embarrassing as it makes me look unclean! Due to the sensitivity of my skin, I'm not even allowed to be using exfoliators but I'm having to use one once a week around my mouth. The red spot on my forehead is a result of peeling dry skin.

Week 31
I've just come back from the hospital and I'm nearing the end of my treatment! I've just been reduced from 60mg to 40mg! This week has been the same as last week however, the flakiness isn't happening as much around my mouth now, it's just moving to other parts of my face! As you can see in the picture, I have a lovely red peeling mark on my cheek. My lips have been particularly dry this week and I'm unsure why but as usual my Blistex is coming to my rescue. The dry skin has also slightly flared up on a patch of my right arm, but I can already see it going down as I've been overloading it with my medicated body lotion.

Review: Calvin Klein Forbidden Euphoria

Hi guys,

I thought I'd review my favourite perfume today which is Calvin Klein Forbidden Euphoria.

It's really long wearing and I always get told I smell nice when I wear it.

According to the internet these are the actual smells of the perfume;

  • Top notes: Mandarin, Passion fruit and Iced Raspberry
  • Heart Notes: Pink Peony, Tiger Orchid and Jasmine
  • Base notes: Cashmere woods, Patchouli Absolute and Skin Musk
As you can tell, it is a very fruity, girly scent which I absolutely adore!

The bottle itself looks nice within my perfume collection, but it isn't the easiest thing to travel with due to it's shape.
The mirrored lid also scratches really easily, which you can see from the picture.

Just like most perfumes nowadays, this isn't the cheapest thing in the world.
A 30ml bottle is £36, a 50ml bottle is £48 and a 100ml bottle is £66!

Next time you're in a department store or boots etc, I would definitely recommend smelling this perfume - you'll fall absolutely in love!

What's your favourite perfume?

Haul ft Barry M, La Roche Posay, Bourjois and more!

Hi Guys,

I've done a little bit of shopping recently, so I thought I would do a post on what I've been gathering.

I started my shop on Amazon and purchased the Bath and Body Works Sanitizer in Mango Paradise. When my friends went to Canada in May, she bought me my first Bath & Body Works Sanitizer and it smelt delicious. It's nearly at the end, so I treated myself to a new one.
I also bought the Butter London nail polish in Knackered, as I've been wanting it for ages. On Amazon it was only £9.50, compared to £11 in Boots.

I then bought a new La Roche Posay Effaclar H from escentual, as my other one is coming to end. I spoke about this moisturiser in my recent skincare routine post.

From Boots, I wanted to try the new L'Oreal Micellar water, which is meant to be a cheaper version of Bioderma. I also bought a Barry M Gelly Hi Shine polish in Blue Grape, which I think is such a bright, fun summer colour. My next purchase was the new Bourjois bronzing primer, which people have been saying is similar to the Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel, so I'm really excited to get to properly try this. My final purchase is the Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me, which have finally made their way over to the UK. They still aren't in the shops, but you can buy them on the Boots online store.

Have you bought anything nice recently?
