Festival Beauty

Hi Guys,
Last weekend I went with a couple of friends to Parklife which is a weekend festival in Manchester. Luckily we were graced with the amazing weather which made the weekend so much better.
The days were long so I needed to make sure my make up would be long lasting as I didn't want to be worrying about it throughout the day (the toilets were not the nicest place in the world to visit).

I started off my face with the Smashbox Dark Spot Corrector Primer to ensure longevity from the outset, and then applied my Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in 54, which gives me a dewy finish - perfect for a summer look.  To cover up any little blemishes (which there are now very few of due my skin medication which you can see in my Roaccutane Diary) I applied the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. For my blush I used my Nars Blusher in Outlaw just to add a slight berry hint to my cheeks. I then topped off my face with the Urban Decay Make Up Setting Spray to set it all.

I started my eyes with a the MUA Pro-Base Eye Primer, to once again keep up the idea of long lasting make up. I then used a variety of different shades from my MUA Heaven and Earth Palette to give a natural eyeshadow look, and followed this with the Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner in Black to create a winged eyeliner. I then used my Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara in Waterproof Black to keep the curl all day. For my eyebrows I used my holy grail pencil, the Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Black Brown and followed this with my MUA clear mascara to keep them in place.

I only took two different lip colours with me to go with my two different outfits but they were both Revlon Lip Butters as I can apply them quickly and easily without a mirror if I needed to. The colours I took were Lollipop and Candy Apple.

So there you have my very easy festival make up look which I didn't top up at all through the day, except for my lips. I was very impressed by the longevity as it was hot both days and I even got soaked on the log flume but my make up didn't budge!

Do you have any ideal items for longevity?

Roaccutane Diary: June 2013

Hi Guys!
Welcome to my 7th installement of my Roaccutane Diary, you can see May's post here.

Week 19
This week has been standard. No spots, lips starting to chap a bit more but manageable. My dry hands have come back a little bit too but not as bad as last time.

Week 20
This week has been alright. I still have had no spots but my lips are getting very dry and my hands still haven't cleared up.
Week 21
This week has been hard but I can't complain too much as I still have had no spots, and getting lots of compliments on how great my skin looks. However, I'm really struggling with my lips, they've got extremely dry now and have started cracking and bleeding every so often. I'm still using a lip scrub twice a week and am constantly piling on lip balm. If I don't apply lip balm all the time, my lips dry out like crazy. Just like last week, my hands have still not got any better and it stings my right hand when I put hand cream due to the cracks.

Week 22
I've just come back from the hospital, and have once again been kept on 60mg. My dry skin has now got worse on the tops of my arms so I've been prescribed medicated shower gel and body lotion to try and control the dryness. I've managed to get my lips under control this week so they are back to normal, they just need a constant application of lipbalm.

Stay tuned for the next Roaccutane diary

Collection Lasting Gel Colour Nail Polish Review

Hi guys!
I've got a review for you today of the new Collection nail polishes. They are are a gel formula which continues on the craze of loads of brands releasing these types of products.

I picked up two colours, Raspberry and Vixen Red when they were on offer for 2 for £5, but their normal price is £3.19 each.
The application of these polishes is so easy, one coat and I reach full opacity with no streaks! That'll be down to the easy wide brush which is, as it says, really easy to use and you get great colour in one stroke.
The lasting power of these polishes is unbelievable! I wore Raspberry first and it lasting over a week with one minor chip and my hands went through a lot that week. I moved out of uni bedroom back home, so I had to pack and unpack with lots of cleaning and my nail polish survived it.

Raspberry is a beautiful raspberry toned pink that is super girly and perfect for the summer time!
Vixen Red, as you can tell from the name, is a deep red that will be perfect for winter and more formal occasions. (I'm planning on wearing it for the first week of my new job)

I'm definitely planning on getting more of these nail polishes as I really am in love with them and am already eyeing up more colours, in particular the top coat - imagine what that would do to any other nail polish I own!!

Have you tried any of these polishes?

Haul: The Body Shop, Collection, Maybelline and Revlon!

Hi Guys!
When my exams finished, I went on a big shopping spree as I felt deprived of shopping after all the revision, and this is the result, but only of the beauty items!

There was an offer at The Body Shop for buy one get one half price on selected items, so I treated myself to a coconut body mist, which just smells like being on holiday. I also got the beautifying oil which is a dry oil for body, face and hair, in the chocomania scent which is like having a bar of chocolate right in front of you!

If you are a follower of my blog, you'll know I have a growing obsession with nail polish, so I bought 3 new ones on this trip.
I wanted to try the Collection lasting gel colour polishes as soon as I heard about them, and they were 2 for £5 so how could I say no?! I got the colours Raspberry and Vixen Red. I've already worn Raspberry and absolutely love the formula! A review will definitely be coming soon!
I then also bought the Revlon nail polish in Girly which I have been eyeing for a while, and when I picked it up it was on offer for just under £5 rather than the normal £6. It is a gorgeous pink base with blue, purple and pink glitter in it.

Then it was (still is I think) buy one half price on Maybelline, and I saw they had released a new colour tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate. It's a beautiful deep pomegranate colour and is right up my street. It's definitely something I'll be using more in the winter! I then purchased a coloursensational lipstick in 175 Pink Punch, which is a bright yet deep pink.

Have you picked up anything nice recently?
