What's in my travel make up bag?

Hi Guys,

I'm writing this post as I'm in the middle of packing! Not only am I packing to go home, as I finish work tomorrow for Christmas, but I'm also going to Spain on Tuesday with my family for a week!
This kind of packing is the hardest, as I have to figure out what I want to take to Spain and what I want to wear for New Year's Eve as I'll be home to party!

My family have already gone to Spain and I'm joining them on Tuesday, so they've taken the majority of my toiletries in the main suitcases as I'm only travelling with a carry on. Due to this, I've had to keep my make up to a minimum as all my liquids and creams etc have to go in my clear bag to get through security.

So let's get started with what I'm taking:

Base
I'm taking my SmashBox Photo Finish Dark Spot Correcting Primer, as there will be long days of walking around so I want my make-up to stay in place. My daily foundation Maybelline Fit Me in 220 is also coming with me as well as the holy grail concealer, the Collection Lasting Perfection. I'm also taking my Bourjous Bronzing Primer for countouring and my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in 005 Silky Beige to stop any shininess.

Eyes
For the same reason as taking a face primer, my eye primer is the MUA Pro-Base Eye Primer. My Mac Palette is perfect for everyday looks as it contains Rice Paper, Bronze, All that Glitters and Embark. The eyeliner I'm taking is the Rimmel Exaggerate Eye Liner. For lashes, I'm taking my Eylure Curlers and a little sample of Benefits They're Real!

Other Products
I'm taking my Bath & Body Hand Gel in Mango Paradise, which as well as smelling divine, is also useful for before I apply my make up. I always use my MUA Sugar Lips lip balm before I apply any make up so my lips are ready for colour. For my brows, I'm using my Natural Collection Eyeshadow in Crushed Walnut and my clear mascara from Collection (which isn't very clear anymore!). I'm only taking one blush, as my look will be the same pretty much everyday so the NYX Blush in Mauve is a perfect everyday colour.
I'm taking two options for my lips: My Mac Lipstick in Brick-O-La for a darker look and my NYX Butter Gloss in Vanilla Cream Pie which is a gorgeous everyday nude-pink.

Benefit Rockateur Blush

Hi Guys,

I'm normally quite good at resisting high end purchases as I know I can't afford them and I had resisted this blush many times until Debenhams had vat free prices on beauty and fragrance. If I was going to finally allow myself to get this blush what a better time to get it with money off?!
It was also like a final little treat for myself until Jan as I've put myself on a December beauty and clothing spending ban except for when I went to the Clothes Show yesterday as that money had already been put aside!

The thing that finally made me crack to buy this blush was seeing Lauren from Love Lauren Elizabeth on youtube talk about and wear this blush in a video and it looked beautiful.

A rose gold blush that adds colour to your cheek as well as making it look highlighted at the same time.

I've never owned a Benefit boxed blush before but I've only heard good things about them. From my first few uses I really like this blush, it looks so natural on the skin but still makes you look healthy and 'glowy'.

Have you ever caved on an item you know you shouldn't really buy?

November Favourites 2013

Hi Guys,

It's monthly favourites time and I can't believe we are in December! I started blogging on the 1st January 2013 so my blog is nearly one years old!

This month I've been keeping everything quite low maintenance because to be honest I've not been bothered. I've been constantly tired and on/off ill that I've been making my life easier by not worrying about my normal beauty routine.

I've been using my Soap and Glory Pulp Friction body scrub 2/3 times a week to exfoliate in the shower. It's not an abrasive scrub and is very gentle but still does the job. It also smells absolutely divine! I highly recommend this scrub!

I've told myself to start using more of the make up that I neglect so I pulled back out my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in 005 Silky Beige. Whilst I was on roaccutane my skin wasn't producing any oil so I didn't need to use any powder. Now I'm off the medication my skin is definitely no where near as oily as it was but it can get a bit shiny towards the end of the day so the trusty powder has found its place again! I really love this powder, it never makes me look cakey and does it's job perfectly!

Another product I've pulled back out is my MUA Cream Blusher in Dolly. It's a beautiful neutral colour that adds a bit of colour onto my cheeks without being over the top because as I've said I've not been making much of an effort this month.

Following on with the not making an effort, one quick sweep of NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm in Applelicious Pink has been adding the perfect amount of sheer colour whilst moisturising my lips at the same time. I really love this lip product and the apple embedded in the stick adds a cute little touch.

Latest in Beauty Glamour Edit

Hi Guys,

Last weekend I was flipping though my Glamour magazine where I saw the double page spread for the Latest In Beauty Glamour Box and the next thing I knew, I'd pressed order for one to make it's way to me.

I was so impressed with the selection of products that I just couldn't resist it. It cost £14.95 + £3.95 for delivery which is an absolute bargain when the box is worth £65.

The packaging is so classic and it was all wrapped beautifully inside.

As you can see the products are amazing (I didn't realise I'd missed the Maybelline Baby Lips until I uploaded this pictures onto my computer but one also comes with the box!).

The box includes:

HD Brows Eye & Brow Palette (Full size)
I remember first hearing about this on youtube when loads of people received it in a Glossybox and have wanted to try it ever since. I fill in my brows with powder so I can't wait to see if this meets my expectations. I received the shade foxy in my box.

Maybelline Baby Lips (Full Size)
I'm already a lover of the Baby Lips and own the cherry tinted one so I was happy to receive the hydrate one to just use as an ordinary lip balm, especially as it contains spf 20 which is always important!

Eyeko Lash Curlers (Full size - can you get mini eyelash curlers?!)
My current eyelash curlers are completely rubbish so I've been looking to buy a new pair for a while and I've heard great things about this one. The blue parts on the handle is velvet and super soft which is a perfect little touch.

Benefit They're Real Mascara (Mini)
This is also another product that I've been dying to try as I can't even count the amount of times I've heard about how amazing this mascara is. My only concern is me falling in love and having to start buying it!

Philip Kingsley One More Day (Mini)
It's always nice to try something new so I'm intrigued to see how this compares to trusty old batiste.

Toni & Guy Glamour Firm Hold Hairspray (Mini - but as you can see it's not so mini)
Just the same as the dry shampoo, it's always good to try new things so I'll see how this compares to my current hairspray.

Balance Me Extra Care Radiance Face Oil (Mini)
It wasn't so long ago that I did a review of the Balance Me Extra Care Eye Cream which you can see here so I'm super exited to try a new Balance Me product. I've always wanted to try a facial oil and this is super cute as it comes in rollerball form. It says it's perfect for sleep-deprived skin which is definitely what I've got right now!

I'm so happy with this box and I can't wait to try all the amazing products. I'm sure anything I really love will be featured in a review soon!

Have you tried any of these products before?

Haul: Boots 3 for 2 + The Body Shop

Hi Guys,

It's 3 for 2 at Boots again which always leaves my bank account very scared but luckily this time I was strict on myself and only walked out with 3 items! I also popped into The Body Shop to have a quick peep at their new Colour Crush Lipstick range and of course, couldn't leave without one.

I tried my very hardest to resist buying Essie's 'After School Boy Blazer' as I have so many dark polishes but I just couldn't as I was seeing it on too many blogs/youtube videos!

I also felt the need to try Bourjous's Colour Edition 24H in 03 Petale de glace. It's a beautiful everyday colour with a slight shimmer that can be worn alone across the lid or as a base.

To continue my obsession with the Revlon Lip Butters I added Pink Truffle to my collection after seeing it in a recent Tanya Burr video. It's a gorgeous pinky/nude with the sheen of the lip butters.

Finally, from The Body Shop I wanted to try their new range of Colour Crush lipsticks, so I picked up the colour 110 Coral Crush. It's a standard coral colour but with a really moisturising formula.

Have you picked anything good up recently?

Review: Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream

Hi Guys,

At some point last year, an edition of Glamour magazine came with a sample of a Balance Me product. I picked up a copy that had the Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream in and from then I have absolutely loved this product!

Once the sample ran out, I was very reluctant to buy the full size as it's £20 and as a student, I didn't know if I could justify spending £20 on an eye cream. After that, it was always on my beauty wish list and eventually I decided that if I wanted it that much, I should just treat myself and buy it! So that's exactly what I did.

As it says on the box the eye cream is 'our triple-action eye cream to help revitalise weary eyes, smooth away dark shadows and reduce the appearance of fine lines".
The ingredients in this product, range from cucumber oil to hyaluronic acid to rosehip oil, all in aid to help brighten and soften the delicate eye area.

I've tried other cheaper eye creams before but nothing compares to this one. It significantly helps remove my dark circles and my under eyes feel nourished. In terms of helping fine lines, I can't comment on that as I'm only 20 so luckily I don't have any just yet.

I absolutely love using this product and I suspect I will continue buying this eye cream even though it's out of my student budget!

Do you have a favourite eye cream?

October Favourites 2013

Hi Guys,

It's monthly favourites time once again, and we're now officially in November! When on earth did that happen?! I have a feeling these next 2 months are going to fly by as I have so many exciting plans coming up, I can't wait!

My first favourite this month is the Coconut body butter from Sainsbury's beauty line called 'Dirty Works'. My mum first bought this and it smelt SO good so I went and bought my own. It's so light, creamy and applies like a dream. The smell really lingers and its amazing.

My next 3 make up favourites aren't new purchases, but items I've owned for a while and have brought back out to get good use out of them.

The MUA Blush Perfection Cream Blusher in Bittersweet has been the only blush I've worn this month! As it's a cream blusher it lasts for ages and leaves your cheeks looking beautifully rosy.

The Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze is something I'm sure you've heard about a million and one times. This month I decided to get more use out of it and it's been my daily eye look all month. I just apply it over my lids and blend it out with some highlighter under my brow bone.

My final favourite is the MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW25. This is actually my second one of these concealers as I love it so much, however it always gets neglected due to the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. This month it got some serious loving again and has been my go-to to cover up my acne scars as it's an amazing full coverage concealer!

What have you been loving this month?

Review: Imperial Leather Foamburst Body Wash

Hi Guys,

Last week I received a lovely sample from the guys over at Imperial Leather to try out their new range of Foamburst Body Wash*. Now, I'm no stranger to these body washes as they are my one of my friends favourite products (shout out to Becky if you're reading this) but I myself have never tried them!

I received the sweet vanilla and cherry blossom scent which I absolutely adore! To me, it smells like marzipan and I could happily shower with it all day, every day.
The body wash which I'm sure you know about, come out as a gel but once applied turn into a foam, which is perfect for a shaving cream as well!
On the bottle it says there are 40 pumps per can which I can see why as one pump covered my whole body.
The bottles retail at £2.99 but I saw on my food shop this week that Tesco have them on offer for £2 at the moment-bargain!

Imperial Leather are currently running a Foamburst Genie Campaign where they are giving away daily prizes as well as 7 big prizes themed around the genies. Go to www.foamburstgenies.com to enter.

Can I also add, that each scent has it's own genie and I'd like to give a special mention to Brennus who is the genie for the Blackberry and Wild Fig scent, and who is also unbelievably good looking. I know which scent I'm going for next...
Each Genie also has their own video. Sebastian is the genie for the Sweet vanilla and Cherry Blossom scent and this is his video:

I think I've now found my new favourite range of shower gels and I can't believe it's taken me this long to try them!

Have you tried any of these before?

Boots Haul

Hi Guys,

I've been out of action on the blogging front for a couple of reasons because life has just been hectic. I've barely stopped to sleep never mind to blog, but I've sorted my routine so now I'm back to the good old blog!

This haul is very collective. I think it may have even started in September. I'm so impressed with myself that I've gone this long without buying too many beauty items but to be honest it's because I've had so much stuff to pay out for like birthday nights out and presents etc that my free cash has been limited.

As I've finally come off my acne medication (you can see the final post here) my lips are becoming less dry. Whilst on the medication, there was no point wearing lip colour as I was constantly applying lip balm but now I can wear it again, I treated myself to two new colours.

The first one from NYC is the Applelicious Glossly Lip Balm in Appleicious Pink and is very similar to Revlon lip butters, so it just applies a sheer coat of glossy colour whilst also moisturising.

The next one is a Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 107 which is a vampy berry colour.

I bought the Collection Eyeshadow pencil in Vanilla Sky to use as an inner corner highlight as it's the perfect colour and easier to apply as it's in pencil form.

I also bought a Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine polish in Watermelon, which is a beautiful deep green.

From Soap and Glory I bought a new Heel Genius which is hands down my favourite foot cream ever! My normal body scrub is the Soap and Glory Flake away but I thought I'd be adventurous and try out a different scrub so I bought the Pulp Friction body scrub which smells delicious!

I hope you enjoyed this haul, I'm so happy to be blogging again!
